Start this tutorial in TinkerPie Studio

1. The object blocks

   Open the purple AI camera category and scroll to Object recognition. The camera knows 24 things: person, cup, bottle, phone, book, laptop, cat, dog, ball, apple, banana and more.

2. React to a cup

   Drag when the camera sees a cup onto the workspace. Inside it put show string "CUP".

3. More objects

   Add two more: when the camera sees a bottle → show string "BOTTLE", and phone → show icon no.

4. Start the camera

   Press Run, then Start camera in the AI camera panel. The first time, the object model (about 5 MB) downloads, so stay online. Orange boxes show what the AI sees.

5. Count people

   Put show number in forever with camera people seen. Walk in and out of the picture.

6. No webcam?

   Use the Object menu under Pretend here to choose what the camera “sees”.
