Flashing heart

Your first program: make a heart blink on the matrix. Beginner · 5 min

Start this tutorial in TinkerPie Studio

1. Find the blocks

   Open the Basic category (red) on the left. Everything that draws on the 6 × 5 matrix starts here.

2. Show a heart

   Drag show icon into the forever block. The icon list already starts at heart.

3. Wait a moment

   Snap a pause (ms) 500 under it. 1000 ms is one second.

4. Clear and wait again

   Add clear screen and another pause (ms) 500. Now the heart turns off for half a second.

5. Run it

   Press Run above the simulator. The heart should blink. Change the colour block to pick your own colour.

6. Try it on the board

   Connect TinkerPie with a USB-C cable, press Connect, then Download. The heart blinks on the real board.
