Face ID: teach the camera

Teachable AI: teach the camera your face (or any object) and make TinkerPie react only to you. Intermediate · 15 min

Start this tutorial in TinkerPie Studio

1. Learned blocks

   In AI camera, find Teachable recognition. Drag when the camera recognises learned 1 and put show icon yes (green) inside it.

2. A second one

   Add when the camera recognises learned 2 with show icon no (red) and a low play tone.

3. Start and choose faces

   Press Run and Start camera. The Teach the camera box appears. Set Recognise to faces (face ID).

4. Teach 1 = you

   Look at the camera and hold Teach 1 for about 5 seconds. Turn your head a little so it learns different angles. The number on the button counts the examples.

5. Teach 2 = someone else

   Ask a friend to hold Teach 2 the same way. Now the matrix shows a tick for you and a cross for your friend.

6. Objects too

   Set Recognise back to the whole picture to teach toys, cards or hand poses instead. What you teach stays until you reload the page.
